offers departmental academic classes and an extensive supportive work program. Our students graduate with either a

Regents, local, or IEP diploma, bolstered by a solid foundation of work skills education and experience.

Upper school classes contain twelve children with one master teacher and one teaching assistant.  Each student’s grade level, social and emotional needs are considered when classes are assigned.

Each upper school student is afforded the opportunity to participate in our Supportive Work Program to the extent that his or her aptitude and interests permit.  Students study and practice job and life skills working in one of Hallen's retail stores or in supported employment positions in the community.

Related Services such as Counseling, Speech & Language, and Occupational Therapy are all provided individually and/or in small groups according to IEP mandates.
