provides self-contained classes for children in grades kindergarten through six. Classes are small: six children with one master teacher and one teaching assistant. Each student benefits from individualized instruction and attention, tailored to his or her specific academic, social, and behavioral needs.

Among our lower school classes we offer several highly structured TEACCH classes for students with autistic features or pervasive developmental delays. These classes contain six students with one master teacher and two teaching assistants. This visually rich program helps facilitate independence and self-organization.

Class assignments are made on the basis of not only age and grade level, but academic, social, and behavioral functioning, in order to create cohesive groups that are stimulating and challenging.

All lower school students leave the classroom in small groups to attend electives such as physical education, computers, and home economics. Art and music are provided in the classroom.

Related Services such as Counseling, Speech & Language, and Occupational Therapy are all provided individually and/or in small groups according to IEP mandates.
